Jason Hodges is well known to viewers of
Channel 7's Better Homes and Gardens, but
is also becoming a recognisable face around his
newly adopted home of Cessnock.
Hodges, the station's gardening and land-
scaping expert, is happiest when he is swapping
the bright lights of city life for regular stays in
A new father with the birth of his daughter
Heidi just four months ago, Hodges loves the
"great characters and really nice people" he
meets in the town.
" I even follow the local footy team, the
Goeys," Hodges says.
He also likes that he is near the vineyards and
cites the "well-priced real estate" as another

"We have an old place that I am doing up,
but since my baby was born and because I like
having a rest when I get up there, I get easily

Hodges, who usually lives on Sydney's north
shore, runs his own business, Greenart Gardens,
and appears on several television shows. He is
going into his sixth year on Better Homes and
Gardens, spent five years on Auction Squad,
appears on the Sunrise Show every Monday and
is seen on Sydney Weekender.

pm because it's dark and cold. It's a funny
thing, but they tell me my great grandfather
didn't have power in his bedroom at his
Willoughby home either, because he said
'you only sleep there anyway'. I'm doing the
My favourite homeware piece

have to suck your stomach
in to get past it. I have also
framed a number of really old
newspapers I found when I
pulled up the carpet.
My favourite colour

is: White walls and
black floors. They let
