The sophistication of Villeroy & Boch's
new Arden Lane bone china collection
brings 1940s glamour back to the table.
Blending the very in shades of sandstone
and taupe with accents of mother-of-pearl
and copper, Arden Lane's patterns
and hues convey a contemporary chic.
The pattern is inspired by a combination
of masculine and feminine objects, such as
buttons featured in a Chesterfield sofa and
drops from a pearl necklace.
Each item features a unique pattern and
texture so that the pieces can be mixed
and matched to create a totally individual
table arrangement. The collection includes
plates, bowls, platters, tea cups, creamer
and sugar pot.
Crystal wine and water goblets, cham-
pagne flutes and candlesticks, all with fine,
delicate stems, extend the range. Pieces in
the range are available from $29.95.

Porter's Original Paints and Inspirations

You are going to have to do it eventually,
so perhaps now is a good time to think of
moving to digital TV. Between 2010 and
2013, analogue free-to-air TV signals will
be switched to digital-only signals, so older
TVs will need to upgrade to digital by con-
necting a set-top box.
Once connected, the TVs will be able to
receive Freeview, Australia's free digital
television service that has all the channels
from the free-to-view broadcasters such
as ABC, SBS, Seven, Nine, Ten, Southern
Cross, Prime and WIN. Available TV chan-
nels will then include ABC1, ABC2, ABC3
(coming in December), ABCHD, SBSONE,
SBSTWO, SBSHD, Seven, 7HD, Nine,
NineHD, GO!, Ten and ONE.
Pricing starts from around $100 for a HD
set-top box, while at the top end several
thousand dollars will buy the ultimate in
digital TV, the thin 3 mm organic LED
